Oh Pleeease...

I fell in love with this shoe for Luke-- oh my it is so cute and so me/him. They are on piperlime.com. Took some extreme discipline not to just buy them... but I have not broken my vow of no discretionary spending so far. Mom, you could buy these for Luke for my birthday- hint, hint size 8 :) LOVE THESE. Anne- your Evan would look cute in these too!

MI Pictures...

Here is the only pic I got of Jess and baby D... he has long arms, doesn't he? Very cute man!
Here is Sophia smiling at Papa outside
Here is Sophia and Great Grandma Helen
Kaela, Marin kissing Sophia, Aunt Christina...
Luke and Marin riding Papa's exercise bike :) He would do his legs really fast like he was pedaling even though his feet were no where near the pedals
On the Swingset ("I believe I can fly" Luke would sing as I pushed him!)
Jacob and Marin

With papa and Juliett at the little table

we're back

We actually came home saturday, but getting around to posting now. I realized I didn't do a great job of taking pictures. I guess because it was hectic with all the kids, and b/c Luke and I both got sick :( Which may be because we sat on the airplane for an hour before even taking off in Norfolk on our way out of town! They actually had us then deplane, wait in the airport another 45 min. or so before getting back on due to a minor maintenance issue. A sweet lady (Janine, if you are out there- I owe you one) saw I had two little ones and one pair of hands.... so she offered to help. She helped us off the plane, helped watch Luke as he wandered around and played in the airport, helped me change both the kids diapers (what a lady!) and even helped me with Sophia when I realized she blew her diaper up her whole back when we got back onto the plane. Surprisingly I didn't freak out too much through all of that... God was kind.

Michigan has a lot slower pace than VA. So we enjoyed just hanging around, visiting a lot of my family. Did a lot of outdoor time with Luke. Got in a photo shoot of the SIX cousins... too cute. The bummer part was being sick- I thought it was allergies but the third day realized it was a cold-- sorry Jess that Dayton got his first cold from Aunt Les :( I am so sad.

My dad especially loves when we come home. He was a great papa, playing outside and in the basement with Luke. And making Sophia smile at "that funny guy". Love you dad! Mom was a trooper with her back/stomach, and jumped right in. She had diapers, bed, blankies for Sophia. And cute warm outfits for the kids.... thanks mom for blessing us with everything.

Learning Fast

Sophia is a strong girl for 13 weeks. A few weeks ago she starting standing up with me just holding her hands! She is schooching on her back and tummy. At her YMCA "class" she goes to while I workout... the lady had her in an exersaucer and the bumbo chair this week! I didn't know she was ready for these already! So I found her a Baby Einstein Exersaucer on Craigslist for $15--- and she loves it. She figured out how to hit the buttons for the animal sounds and smiled when she made it play the song. And she likes the book with the cow and tried to turn the pages too. Big girl ! !

what's goin on

We've been busy, thought I'd ramble about what's goin on. Still working on potty training with Luke. I bought him this Potty Watch... it plays a little song every 30,60, or 90 minutes (you choose) and it is helps me really remember to take him in there before he goes. I was getting frustrated last week b/c he knows when he poops and will not go in the potty. He is the only one still in Pull-ups at school; so I am hoping he gets it soon :) His mind travels so fast, I think it just is not on his priority list like it is mine!

We spent the Labor Day weekend at the beach. Saturday we "put up" 4 bushels of corn. For those of you who are not from the south, that would be: shucking, silking (removing the hairs), cutting (with some neat tools), and bagging the corn. This is a Crosby tradition and we had a good time. We ended up with about 12 bags to eat throughout the year. To cook it you simmer with a whole stick of butter, then add bacon grease (oh my!), and then evaporated milk towards the end. A yummy delight!

Wayne was layed off a month ago; but still working a ton. He is directing sales for some larger land tracts- but we don't know if they will or will not sell. So we are walking through that, and being challenged in faith during uncertain times. I had an interview last week for a personal training job. It was a big struggle for me, as I want to stay with the baby, but God I think was teaching me about Love and Submission (ouch). I should hear back this week about the job- I would do tuesday/thursday evening work which wouldn't be so bad and would help with the bills since NO houses are selling. I am praying that one of my sales go through too.

My parents bought our tickets to Michigan to come see everyone in a couple of weeks!! Very excited and thankful for that. Can't wait for my family to meet Sophia... and I get to meet my new nephew! Luke is excited for the airplane too. I am nervous about flying with two- more getting to the plane without a meltdown and screaming baby. But hopefully all will go well.
