He Got In!

A couple weeks ago we got a letter basically saying Luke was "qualified" for the kindergarten we were trying to get him in... but they were full :( I was sooooo bummed. We had been waiting for months through the app process and I really felt like it was the right place for him to go. A way for me to give him a great jump start into his education. So I was way bummed and doubtful that someone might decline and a spot would open up.

I talked to his current dayschool about him staying there so we could re-apply for kindergarten when he was 6-- but then it kind of made next year like a long waiting period- yuck

But then yesterday at the gym- caller ID said the school was calling! My stomach dropped- and sure enough the admit lady said a spot had opened up and they wanted to offer it to LUKE ! ! !

I have been on a cloud 9 high for like 48 hours! This was seriously like a college application
So once we get the contract--- my boy will be kindergarten bound

SO thankful, I really feel like God heard my prayers over the last 6 months-- and to be let down and gifted the spot was even more a blessing

So excited

4T Boy

Nana- thank you for our Valentines Day Outfits!!! I thought you'd like our dialogue when I mentioned Nana...

Luke: "we're goin to Nana Chambers house ?!"
Mommy: No Luke, but maybe we can go soon, ok?
Luke: "I want to go on the airplane and see Nana Chambers!!"--getting frustrated
Mommy: Well we have to save our money and then we can go...
Luke: No-- I'LL get the dollars, I'll get the dollars
** He proceeds to walk away, then return with my credit card ?? (this guy is resourceful!)
Luke: I got the moneys mama, I'll get my suitcase (he has a suitcase from Nanny)

I can't believe Luke is a 4T boy now... wow that went fast. I thought it was time to get a cute pic of him, which he gladly abliged:

Love my Lukey. Maybe I am partial but isn't he just the cutest thing!

Soccer!

I signed up Luke for his first Soccer Team!!! So excited. He will be in the 3/4 yr. old team, no goalies :) They "practice" on mondays and wednesdays for an hour and then have a game on saturday mornings. He will be so great. I can't wait to see how he does. If you are near me and have boys or girls 3-7, you can sign them up here ! !

Wild Wild

Well we survived the gymnastics party. I have to laugh as everyone got to see the full extent of Luke being his wide open self. So funny that God gave me a son just like him. I tend to be a "stay between the lines", follow directions, stay proper kind of person... But that would not be true for my Luke. He is loud, he is funny, he likes to lead a crowd of 5 or 6, he can't pay attention for longer than ten seconds, he doesn't like to follow directions. So picture all the kids following the teacher playing with a beach ball, and i'm trying to redirect him as he runs to the trampoline and the mats and all over the place at lightning speed. And I've got Sophia in tow who is used to this by now!

It was quite funny. The birthday girls dad video'd literally the entire hour and a half of the fun. So they will have nice memories of wild Luke who took his shirt off and stole the show :). Oh my!

Close to My Heart

Before I had children, I remember seeing this lady who had a beautiful necklace with each child's photo in a little silver square. And I found Firefly Photo Jewelry and had this made...

I love it so much! Each square is two sided with their name on the back of the picture. It is so special for me to wear. Love my babies!!! Now they can always be close to my heart.

Random Picture Challenge

Join in Britt's Fun... August 2007, 30th Picture!

This is a little after August, I didn't have any for that month. But here we have Luke on the Throne at the Atlantis resort in the Bahamas. That was such a fun trip! Luke got his own passport before we went. A seasoned travelor, he has been to Paris and Spain (in my tummy), Cabo San Lucas as a one year old, florida several places, michigan, pennsylvania, south carolina. This trip I was just a little pregnant with Sophia... I remember the morning sickness while we were there, yuck! Maybe if our ship comes in we can have another trip like this next year!!!

Heartbreaker

I drop Luke at school around 9am and all the kids are mostly there already. We are putting his coat up and I see Lilliana and Meg with goofy grins, snickering and one says "he is MY boyfwend", then the other "he is MY boyfremb"... "I am going to Mawy him"--- WHAT? Did I hear them correctly fighting over who was marrying my Luke? Yes, he is already a heartbreaker :)

We happened to be leaving the same time Meg's dad was also picking her up. He told me she talks about Luke all the time at home... then she told her dad "he is my boyfremb"... and then they embraced and he gave her a kiss on the head.

Awwww....

Random Photo Challenge

Here is my "May" photo for Britt's Challenge... which this is may 2007 when Luke was not quite 2... while we were on a visit to see my fam in Michigan!

Wearing his blue crocs from his first trip to Disney World, with the jibbits of nemo and stitch! I took this pic b/c there are some infamous shots of me at the same age sticking my face into my grandmas flowers :)
He still had no hair (poor Sophia is likely to follow in these footsteps, poor sweeters). Jess gave him his first haircut on that trip, here is a picture of that for reminiscing fun since I didn't blog back then...
(can you imagine NO blogging ?!?)

Wasn't he the cutest little guy??

Park with Caleb!

We had the pleasure of cousin Caleb spending two days with us last week while Sharay took Grandma Hunt up to DC to catch a plane to Alaska (brave Grandma!). Caleb is 6, and as Luke gets older they are really getting to be best buds. They both are all boy! The loudness went up a notch with all the sword fighting, wrestling, and karate chopping :) It was fun.

Luke impressed me with his strength--- he would have me put him on the monkey bars and then held himself on the bars. Jeans were a little big today- haha isn't that belly cute!

I rolled sister around in the bugaboo and she had a good time too.

Woo-Hoo! He went down the pole by himself too!

Making Great Strides

So we are over the hump on the pooping ! ! ! ! (knock on wood) I caught him in time on thursday... and we made a huge deal. I made up this song--- you mom's can appreciate this: poo-poo on the po- tty (to a congo line tune) and he liked that and sang along and did the train with me around the house. And then does this bow, and says "clap for me momma", which I always do!

To make an even bigger deal I took him that night to Toys R Us to pick a special toy for reward-- ended up getting a small toy train set b/c he likes playing with the one at the store so much. But then friday after school he went in his pants again :( So Wayne stuck to taking the train away, and no watching Johnny Quest on TV with poppy (which he loves). He was very upset; I wanted to cave, but Wayne was firm thank goodness. Because Saturday morning- he told me before he had to go which is HUGE! He would always hide when I wasn't paying attention so I couldn't catch him. We had to take the train away again yesterday afternoon-- but he got it back this morning!!! So I think we are getting there. Never new one could be so happy about pooping !

Little costumes...

We had a good time yesterday at 'The Holy Ghost Weiner Roast' (church alternative to Halloween at the Triple R Ranch). We ate hot dogs, sat by the fire because it got COLD ! Went to The Hunt Family Fiddlers concert... Luke was dancing around and making everyone laugh as always. They called some people up on stage; and then he kept telling me he was going up there (on stage)-- no fears! Didn't stay too long because it was late and so many people. Enjoy the pics:

Our Little Lady Bug

Woody... he was having a hard time walking in the cowboy boots, thus the funny faces

"The cutest cowboy I know"

Oh This one is Priceless!

Here is Sweet Pea all bundled up in the stroller with her Princess Paci. She was content the whole time we were there!

What to "do"

I've begged, I've pleaded, I've encouraged, I've bribed, I've spanked, I've cried...
I bought him Elmo, Bob the Builder, Diego, and Handy Manny Undies... but still no pooping on the potty :(

So I've resorted to patience. Do you think he will just one day do it ? ? ?
